SE Wireless Motion Sensor Light - 10 Super-Bright LED SE Wireless Motion Sensor Light - 10 Super-Bright LED

Reviews

It was working ok for just a few days. But, suddenly, its motion activating sensor stopped working and now it only works with on-off switch. It was one of the worst shopping experience.

I have to say..this was, and still is a great investment. This so saves so much man hours of installing the real thing, with wires and drilling. The simple thing to this is, you just put in the double batteries need and watch it work. It does exactly as its described. It turns off in 30 seconds and is pretty bright for a small pod. Its only a size of a palm. But it still lights up a pretty big area. Worth every penny and I strongly recommend!!

One LED did not work in just one of the four units. The remainder worked just fine. Nice and bright.

I have some night blindness and a very long and dark hallway. Bought one and it was great but still not enough so purchased two more. I installed them on the wall about 8 feet apart, 8 inches from the ceiling. High enough that the dog doesn't set them off when she walks by. They are fantastic! Well made and they work great! No more stumbling in the dark! Even after a month I still have yet to change the batteries, bright as ever.

The motion sensor stopped working after 3 minutes. Received this product on 5th Feb 2010, put in the batteries, and switched to auto mode (motion sensor). The light came on for about 30 seconds then went off. Moved myself in front of the sensor, the light came on again for 30 secs. Repeated it once more and it worked. But after that the motion sensor stopped detecting any motion and refused to light up. Can only use the product as a torchlight now by switching to ON mode. These cheap products from China have disappointed me many times before, so beware.

3-In-1 Flashlight Nitelite Emergency Light 3-In-1 Flashlight Nitelite Emergency Light

Reviews

I plug this light in by the kitchen door. It works as a night light and when I need to take out the garbage or get the mail on early winter nights I use it as a flashlight. I love it. I hope that it lasts.

I initially bought three then ordered five more. I'm very satisfied with all aspects of this light. It doesn't cover the second outlet such that the second outlet is unuseable, but whatever is plugged into the second outlet must be a conservative size plug. As an example, I can still plug in a cell phone charger, a multi-plug outlet, a vacuum cleaner cord, coffee pot, or TV set - any one of these plug in adjacent to this night light. I'm replacing older emergency lights that use a standard bulb and have quit holding a charge, therefore, excepting their night light function, their usefullness is gone. Those were Walmart clearance items and probably lasted maybe a year - I got what I paid for. I don't know how long the rechargeable battery will last in these new 3-in-1 emergency lights but hopefully more than a year. As a night light, the light is white rather than the typical yellow of a standard night light bulb and is brighter which some might find annoying if placed in a bedroom. If the power goes off the night light LEDs turn into an emergency flood which really lights up the immediate area. A slide switch on the side converts it from a flood light to a flashlight. We live in a 2-story home, all bedrooms upstairs, and the safety and security of my family is foremost. This seems to be a good product and assuming it lasts a few years, it is a good investment in our safety.

I bought 4 of these probably 2 years ago. All 4 are still working great. The surface (non-flashlight) lights are dimmer than typical old-fashioned night lights, but that hasn't bothered me. The flashlight capability is pretty laughable, but to be honest you're probably just going to use the light to try to figure out where you left your real flashlight (or to light a few candles). It may sound like I'm being negative, but these really are great products that do exactly what I'd expect. The only reason I'm leaving this review is because I'm going to order a few more for the house for those few other places where I wish I had the same light.

Cons: 1)Depending on how charged the batteries are, the light remains a bit lit even with good source of day light facing the unit, this happens only when it is fully charged. 2)Batteries can not be replaced, so when they will be gone the whole unit will be as well. Pros: Batteries fully charged provides hours and hours of light.

I like these lights more than I like the less-expensive night lights that use 4 watt or 7 watt incandescent bulbs. These lights use less much power. I like not needing to replace light bulbs.

SE Super-Bright 14 LED Flex-Neck Table and Reading Lamp SE Super-Bright 14 LED Flex-Neck Table and Reading Lamp

Reviews

I was looking for a reading lamp for the bedroom, but this one has no power cord! It's battery only-3 AAA batteries. First nite it was OK. Second night it was getting dim, third nite it was of little use. Very disappointed.

I like the size of the lamp since it does not take up much room on my desk. However, it only lights up about a 3 inch wide area although you can easily move the lamp around. For the price, it's adequate.

These are cute lamps, but they're also cheaply made. Very lightweight and the matte silver finish scratches if you even look at it wrong. The worst part is the very tiny area that the LEDs actually cover. I can't even imagine what these lamps would be good for.

This LED light arrived on schedule and works very well. I have an "EXTRA BIG AND LOUD" alarm mounted on the wall by my back door so that when I let my dogs out I can activate it for a preset time. Then I can choose whether or not to stand at the door and watch them (fenced in yard) in good or harsh weather. If it is extra cold or snowy outside I set it at one minute otherwise for 3-5 minutes. The light allows me to not turn on the room light but just the LED lamp, if needed, in order to easily see the buttons on the alarm. I made a keyhole type opening in the base in order to mount it on the wall. If it had been manufactured that way in the first place I would have given a 5-star review.

The very small amount of light would serve better if it wasn't so tightly focused. There ought to be some kind of optic that would scatter the light over a larger area.

Sky High Sky High

Reviews

Whether one cares for all the retreads of the 80s songs on this disc is one thing ... but ... it is advertised as being Michael Giacchino's soundtrack for the film, and ... alas ... there is not one note of his wonderful score on this CD! I could, of course, have avoided disappointment by examining the track-listing more scrupulously (or, I confess, at all!), but no, I rushed headlong heedlessly. Thus confirming yet again the age-old motto: CAVEAT EMPTOR!

A comic book geek as a teenager, I winced when I first saw this movie advertised. Once I saw it, however, I loved it so much that I bought the DVD and soundtrack. My favorite is Steven Strait's "One Thing Leads to Another." I followed him to "Undiscovered" and that soundtrack which has him singing almost all the songs. His growth as a singer is great. I made a movie mix and play all these songs in my classroom sometimes during group work. My students loved the movie Sky High too.

Original songs for all of the 80's covers on this soundtrack: 1. I Melt With You-Modern English 2. Through Being Cool-Devo 3. Save It For Later-The English Beat 4. Everybody Wants To Rule The World-Tears for Fears 5. One Thing Leads To Another-The Fixx 6. Lies-Thompson Twins 7. Voices Carry-'Til Tuesday 8. Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want-The Smiths 9. True- Spandau Ballet 10. Just What I Needed-The Cars 11. Can't Stop The World-The GoGos 12. And She Was- Talking Heads 13. Twist And Crawl-The English Beat LISTEN TO THE ORIGINALS-this soundtrack was a cute idea and is fun if you like covers. But you cannot beat the original songs. (In reference to some of the other reviews for this CD-there is not one original song on this soundtrack, nor is there a one-hit wonder covered on this soundtrack. Every artist covered here had multiple hits in the eighties.)

I loved the Sky High movie so much I got the soundtrack and it soars :)

We liked the movie as a whole family and now love the soundtrack. It is a fun variety of 80s songs that parents love and kids can still sing along to. Only disappointment is that the songs are not done by the original artists.

This soundtrack mirrors "Sky High's" breezy, youth-oriented story, with bands like the Grammy nominated Texas-based Bowling for Soup and Boston's Click 5 leading the way. Other artists and songs included on the soundtrack are: Christian Burns, "Everybody Wants To Rule The World;" Flashlight Brown, "Save It For Later;" Ginger Reyes, "Can't Stop The World;" Vitamin C with a remake of "Voices Carry;" They Might Be Giants, "Through Being Cool;" Cary Brothers, "True;" Elefant, "Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want;" Keaton Simons, "And She Was;" Caleigh Peters, "Just What I Needed;" and Steven Straight with "One Thing Leads To Another...

Shining My Flashlight on the Moon Shining My Flashlight on the Moon

Reviews

This CD is a delight that only gets better with repeated play and when I say repeated...just ask my students and family whether I've repeatedly played it :)

Anyone who can write a song like "Planet X", about the quarrel between those who think Pluto is a planet and those who think not, and make it last over six minutes, and come up with the rhymes Lavin does, must be insane. But the song is unforgettable...funny and lovely and thought-provoking all at once. Isn't that, however, what Christine is famous for being? The disc is worth the price for that song alone, if you value songwriting. However, there are many other fine ones here. "Music to Operate By" and "If I Ruled the World" are typical of Christine's humor at its best. "Happy Divorce Day" is so true, so sad, that if divorce has touched you in a major way it becomes hard to listen to it. The story song "Polka Dancing Bus Driver" pulls the heartstrings too, but in a sweet payoff. Quite an achievement. I can't believe it would disappoint anyone who likes singer/songwriter contemporary folk with an urban sensibility. I hesitate to call Lavin a "folksinger" however...she embraces a wider world than that term connotes.

For me, this CD purchase would have been justified by just one song. Planet X. One of the most amazing song lyrics I have ever heard, and I've heard a LOT of songs. The rest of the CD is gravy.

this is one of those CDs that i play over and over again. you will, too. the songs range from whimsy and hiliarious to the sad but in the end up lifting "bad as it gets." and if you ever get a chance to see christine lavin in concert, do it. (and she also paints your nails with glitter during her break!)

Christine Lavin's 1997 album, Shining My Flashlight On The Moon, teases us with the magic and ingenius "folk" story-telling writing and singing that is Lavin. While not as witty and comical as her previous albums, Flashlight is more introspective. The title song is haunting as she tells the story of a shared moment with her father, who died recently, and again in a reflection of his memory in "The Scent of Your Cologne". "Honey, We Have to Talk" and "I Want to be Lonely Again" is every long-time couple's nightmare reality looking at togetherness vs alone-ness. "Music to Operate By" reflects Lavin's usual brilliance when it comes to inovative subject matter, providing music for your surgeon giving him guidance while putting you under the knife. Lavin has a distinctive way of story telling when it comes to personalities and characters. "The Polka-Dancing Bus Driver", "Robert and Annie", and "Two Amerians in Paris" all bring that unusual perspective Lavin has in telling you about regular people in their irregular lives, using her songs like a magnifying glass on their lives.A true treasure on the album is "If I Ruled the World." In this delightful banter-song, Lavin tells us how she would run things if she was in charge, including creating a fast forward button to speed through boring people's babble. Politicians should take note of some of her recommendations as a world under Lavin's rule might be a better place. This album is a treasure of Lavin classics, but it stretches beyond her usual silliness adding a more sentimental dimension. Lavin fans will be delighted and new listeners will spend time with a richer, deeper, and more intimate Christine Lavin.

My Degeneration My Degeneration

Reviews

Flashlight Brown are back with this ear shatteringly good album, My Degeneration. Few people actually know what this album really is. Most think that it is packed with new songs. The real answer is that the album is more like A Best of.. cd. Almost all the songs have appeared on their previous cds.Don't let this fool you though. This is an absolutely fantastic cd with some crackily good songs. Although their songs may have appeared previously Flashlight Brown has added some extra riffs, a few more back up vocals, and a lyric touchup. The result is a cracking album with fast paced songs such as "A Freak", anthem's for the modern day teenage like "Looking Away" and music thats just plain good "Patricia". You really can't get music this good these days so seize this album while you still can!

I first heard of Flashlight Brown after finiding them on cdnow.com. I wasn't sure what to think when I first heard them but they had a different sound that wasn't like things that are out now. I went to the cd store and got it for 10 bucks which is never bad. At first I really didn't like the cd, but after a couple listens it grows on you and now it's one of my favorites.

This cd is awesome, I found out about the band when i bought tickets to an all-american rejects show, They, along with Moyion city sountrack opened, they are a great band. This cd is full of songs that are actually different from everyone else, they have a unique sound, and with matt and fil's added vocals it is perfect for everyone. I recommend picking it up as soon as you can, you will be very very glad you did.

My degeneration, a highly addictive cd. From the first time I heard the name flashlight brown mentioned at a treble charger concert, i've been hooked. This album is great, comparable to their previoius cds, but this time its on a major label. There songs are melodic, with catchy lyrics about outsiders looking on the inside.. My personal favs are "Loose the Shades" and "Praise the Day" For $, you can't loose

i cant stop listening to "my degeneration" its a great cd. the cd is good quality and can easily compete with other bigger punk rock bands. i especially like ready to roll, a freak and whoa man. everysong is amazing with its own originality, go and buy this cd now to finally experience FLB

Defining Moments: Alabama Football Defining Moments: Alabama Football

Reviews

The recent release of the Alabama's Defining Moments DVD package is the most well done project (in this area of sports) I have seen. The enterviews are excellent, the extended interviews and excellent, the background material on some of the coaching recruitment segments, such as DVD "Win # 315" is perhaps my favorite. Showing Brewton,Alabama and video and comments by QB Walter Lewis and his mother and father is perhaps the best. Although "Goal Line Stand", has great analysis and Barry Kraus's interview rates at the top of my favorite material. I look at the tapes 3 to 4 times per week--its a good time to watch the DVDs during the off season. Anyway, I don't think the team that put this together could have done a thing better to improve this collection. The DVD's are a history book of Alabama Football. The DVD's are probably are great recruiting tools for new prospects, however, I do not know if this would violate NCAA rules and regulations. Order this series online today, before this fall. William Phillips Wiggins, BS & MBA--biopharmaceutical consultant.

This set of DVDs is a must-have for Bama Fans! Brings back so many memories of Alabama Football and outstanding plays and players. Money well spent!

LIGHT HIM UP! A Video Guide to the Tactical Flashlight in Self-Defense LIGHT HIM UP! A Video Guide to the Tactical Flashlight in Self-Defense

Reviews

The worst fleshlight training DVD I have ever seen. All the action was male-on-male and, more important, I believe there's a very real possibility that viewers could seriously injure themselves by imitating these techniques. I try to be very open-minded, particularly when it comes to LBDSM stuff, but I think this movie might push the envelope a little too far. I certainly did not find it very stimulating.

This video is money well spent! I am a competition shooter and concealed permit holder. Before watching this video, I thought I had everything figured out for any situation but, you cannot just brandish a firearm in every situation so that got me thinking. Most items that have a handle or grip on them can be considered a weapon by the authorities, and can get you locked up. A flashlight is not a weapon but a tool for lighting and should be regarded as such. However, this video shows many ways of protecting yourself using a tacticle flashlight that could easily save you life or just stop a lesser threat from escalating. He shows many ways to stike and many ways to drop your aggressor. Purchase this video and train yourself, your wife/girlfriend, or your kids. Oh, also, if you have read the review by Mr. Harris, he states that you could hurt yourself by trying to perform the moves! If you are going to buy into that garbage then you might as well let your attacker hurt you as well.

Average Rating:

One of the most underestimated and least understood self-defense tools today, the tactical flashlight is nevertheless an invaluable part of the combative arsenal. Master martial artist Steve Materkowski has been at the forefront of tactical flashlight technology for decades, and in this video production from Paladin Press he teaches you the tricks, techniques and principles you need to make best use of this device...
