Rothco Venturer Travel Portfolio BagReviewsSince I bought this bag I have used it all most everyday. Before this I used to stuff my pants pockets with the things I need to carry. There is more room in this bag than what I have to put in it right now. Get one you will not regret it. A Nice Little Tote for Your Nook... The Problem: I like to go for a walk, stop at a local coffee shop or bakery to read for a spell, and then continue walking on home. The problem was finding a small tote bag in which to conveniently (and SAFELY) carry my Nook eReader while walking. Stopped in at my local B&N brick and mortar place: They had some very nice, humungous, canvas tote bags; but these were really too big just to carry my Nook on a casual stroll. I needed something smaller. The Solution: The Rothco Venturer Travel Porfolio Bag, available from Amazon.com, proved to be an excellent solution. My Nook, in its Chesterton cover, fits snuggly and securely (the phrase, `like a glove' comes to mind) in the main compartment of this tote, and the shoulder strap makes for convenient, hands-free, drop-free carrying. There's also room for your driver's license, credit cards, sunglasses, pen and a pad. Happy eReading. George Dawson Whittier, California August, 2010 I had a small bag I used for everything but I needed a new one and searched the web, made a few store purchases before settling on the Rothco Venturer. This is pretty amazing. It's extremely compact with sections for camera, datebook, phone, credit cards, lipstick, glasses, keys and I even got a small flat bike water bottle into it. Plus I really wanted an accessible change purse and bill holder. It has all this. I love the army green, it's very sturdy and cool looking. The price is beyond low! I think this would be fine for a man too. Man, this thing would be great if the pockets were just a few millimeters larger. The credit card and ID pockets are just a very tiny bit too small. Love the quality of construction and material, but can't really recommend it due to the size. Size does matter sometimes. Average Rating:![]() |

Rothco Venturer Excursion Organizer BagReviewsThis was a great buy before my trip to Africa. It was wonderful to have everything I needed right at my fingertips!!!! This was a great bag to take on an international travel trip of mine, but the internal liner fell apart only after 2 weeks of use. Everything fit great into it as well. Passport, cash, banking and credit cards, iPhone, tiny digital camera and memory cards etc. The external canvas material is still like new, but the thin synthetic material for the pockets started to first tear around the main pocket where I kept my passport (it is where the show the smart phone in the pic on the right hand side of it while open). I only took it out to show my passport (which you do a lot on these trips mind you) and the US passport started cutting the material. Eventually it tore on its own and I can't keep my passport in that pocket anymore. Truth be told I'm still going to use the bag, but if I had to do it over again I'd look for another bag that was canvas on the inside as well. Bought this for added EDC use. The size was ok for it use, I quickly found it small for the amount of stuff I needed to carry plus the added weight when I filled it with a small first aid kit, notebook, swiss army knife and a couple other stuff put a little too much weight on the side of my pant belt. It comes with a strap to be worn as a shoulder bag but that defeats the use I have for it. All these things are not negative to the bag. However, it does have short comings. The velcro used for the cell phone pocket is nearly worthless, fuzzy and does not secure well, the cell phone pocket is also rather baggy and its design is not the best. The overall material for the bag seems rather cheap but expected for such a cheap bag. It could have benefited with dual zippers for the pockets. The material of the bag is rather thick and you find that it can limit the useful space in the bag, it also impacts parts like the pen pocket which is rather tight and you have to work at it to loosen enough for a typical ball point pen to easily go in and out of it. So while not a terrible bag, there is room for plenty of improvement. BUYERS BEWARE... this product is made with the cheapest materials possible. I really like the looks of this bag, and I love how it has a lot of little pockets, but the hardware is the lowest end garbage you can buy. The metal clips on the shoulder-straps broke on THE FIRST DAY I WORE IT!! Bag is great BUT one of the snap fasteners that holds the strap to the bag fell apart so I'm having to use a snap ring to be able to use it. Average Rating:![]() |
