This is a truly awesome GPS. Definitely one of garmins best in the entire lineup. When this GPS was released; soon after there was a Firmware update 3.90 that really messed this unit up and it has been going on for a loooooong time. Up until recently,Garmin FInally posted a firmware update. This has fixed the sporadic screen, the random reboots, stuttering with the voices among other things. out of their whole line up this is one of the most feature packed ones garmin offers- It has bluetooth, MP3 playback with an Aux jack, 3d maps among other things. Garmin has released more units but they keep stripping features on all of their models. The only major difference is the google integration on the 1690/ bigger scree on the 1490 and faster hard ware on the new 3700 series which is extremely overpriced. The 765t was one of the last garmins to come out that has the capability to accept mp3s via an sd card and connect it using an AUX cable to your car. It also has 4g of internal memory. Garmin has gone cheap with alot of their models and has been using 2gb I was honestly about to return this unit since the FW 3.90 was so bad it literally made this unit unusable (i was going to send back to Amex for refund), but thankfully this update was finally released. If you are on the fence to get one, NOW is the time to finally get it since thew price is at an all time low under~200 Just make sure you update the firmware immediately. Time will tell how reliable this unit will be with the FW, but upon my testing, it has been rock solid so far. If you have been reading other reviews, please keep this in mind. alot of those units had FW3.90 and there was nothing you could do about it. FW4.0 has finally fixed out all those issues and this gps can now be as awesome as it was meant to originally be.

Right out of box i could not register the unit , garmin site stated unit was already registered . I Emailed support after sending them proof that i just purchased this unit from Amazon they claimed that it was registered before and was never returned to be refurbished at there factory. They reset the site so i could register the unit . I then purchased a life time map update and registered the unit. Well when i checked to make sure it was registered it stated registered as of Nov.17, 2007. I will be returning this unit to Amazon ,i can not see how they are selling something they claim was refurbished when the factory has no records of this unit being returned to any of their factory locations.

Great addition to my recent road trip!!! The only complaint I have is the percision of entries is sometimes a bit off (shows a different letter or clicks on a different line than I think I am clicking on). Still learning all the ins and outs of the unit, but over all I am very pleased with it (this is my first gps unit).

nice looking and i love the 3d lane change feature. Also it is nice to have the bluetooth now since it is law. Ed

Works good but takes quite a few clicks to navigate menus , menu items not as easy as tomtom to find .

This case was a little too tight for my 4.3" Garmin 1390T GPS and power cord. It also has no padding to absorb the shock of a fall. It wasn't worth the trouble and expense of returning; so I gave it to my wife. She puts her smaller square GPS, in a padded pouch, inside this case and still has room for the power cord. Between this case and her pouch her GPS is well protected and she doesn't have to fish the power cord out of her bag. I ordered the Lowepro 4.3" Navi Shield GPS case for a few dollars more and I'm very pleased. It has a built-in padded pouch, room for my power cord and a thicker exterior shell to protect my 1390T GPS. There's a case for everyone. I'm giving this only 3 stars because Amazon promoted it, as a package deal, for use with the 1390T and I don't think it is an adequate case to protect that GPS.

bought this to house my 4.3 g.p.s. and protect it...it does its job well, but it does take up considerable space in the center glove box.

This little case is great I do not have to worry about dropping, placing things on top of it, because the screen is protected, and it even fits in my little purse,

Good, inexpensive case for 4.3 inch screen GPS units. This case is a little large for my Garmin Nuvi 255W, but it still does a good job of protecting the screen. If the fit had been a little more snug, I would have rated it 5 stars.

The case itself is solid enough and protects the GPS unit since I did drop mine once already. Only complaint I have is the zipper hangs up sometimes. I bought it for the Garmin 265WT model (which replaced a 750W model)to carry in when flying to new locations in N. American/Canada. The main unit fits very well into the case however Garmin's new cable is much thicker and does not fit into the case along with the main unit and completely close it. This is not Case Logic's fault so I gave it 4 stars. The rating system here has been extremely reliable. I have rarely been disappointed when sticking with very highly rated items. However, this particularly item is a notable exception. This device is a great idea, and seemed like the perfect solution for mounting my Garmin 765. And it is the perfect mounting solution except for one factor which renders it totally useless. The adhesive fails in high heat. I'm referring to the *normal* heat *every* car is subjected to when parking on a hot day, even with all the windows open an inch or two. Even after cleaning the dashboard meticulously and allowing the adhesive to set for a few hours before attaching the GPS...the very first time I left the car parked in the sun with the front windows open an inch or so, the mount fell off. I live in NY, by the way, not Florida or Arizona. I CANNOT understand why no one else seems to have experienced this problem. It's truly odd.

Great Price. Easy to install. Holds my GPS unit securely. Had for a month now and it is working wonderfully. Just make sure you know where you want to stick it because once you press it into place it is stuck.

Like the fact it can be mounted on the dash and is not a dead giveaway you have a GPS. circle on the windshield from the suction kind is an obvious sign you have a gps in the car. sticks really well

Its a great idea because its short and holds the GPA with ease. However, thats only if you can get it to stick. After pealing off the plastic to expose the sticky 3M tape I was shocked to find that it just wouldn't stick to anything! First tried the window and if fell off after a few seconds, next a spot on the dash...same results. Touched the sticky side of the tape and found it to lack any stickiness. Really a disappointment though and the quality of this item should be investigated.

This product, is difficult to find, however once acquired you'll wish the Garmin Nuvi's shipped with them. The mount is the most versatile of all the mounts I've considered and actually use. In fact I recommend them to everybody who uses Garmin Nuvi GPSs. I use one in my car, truck, on both of my Harleys, and my Girlfriend's Jeep. The small size is ideal for use where the provided suction cup mount won't work, pretty much everywhere except the windshield... Get one of your own and you'll soon be recommending them to your friends. LDG
