This pack has a lot of useful compartments, which I love. That's the only thing good about it, though. I found this pack rather stiff and uncomfortable compared to another pack I purchased for comparison. The shoulder straps were not very giving; they seemed restrictive in the shoulders, even for my small body. The pack barely fit my 17" laptop, and then only when the provided insert was not in place. (There is still plenty of padding without the insert.) The zippers are the small, cheap kind that don't zip well and look like they will break under any load or just over time. The water bottle holders are small, but still usable if your water bottle isn't too wide. The quality of this pack was disappointing for the price, so I sent it back. If you can put up with a little discomfort, I would say it's worth spending at most $50 for.

I purchased this backpack from my local university bookstore back in 2006, and this backpack has never failed. I've taken it to conferences, camping, and even the daily grind and it not only keeps my laptop safe and sound, but has enough room to carry plenty of books and gear. I should point out that before purchasing this bag, I was breaking about one backpack per year due to the load (usually > 50lb) I tend to carry. The side pockets are infinitely useful for both water bottles and cell phones. I really can't recommend this product enough.

I've had one of these since 2004 and used it to haul my first 17" ,massively heavy and huge, Toshiba P20 between countries and walking to and from work for over 4years. Recently I switched to a 17" HP, to my great relief :) So I've used this bag almost every day since 2004 and the only thing that is broken is one of the two zippers used to close the computer compartment, and that is due to my over sized Toshiba having rubbed at the zipper for 4years - but that's not that bad, since one zipper can close the compartment. Constant use for 5 years and still going strong! I would recommend this bag to my mother :)

This is a great backpack. It is very well built, and loaded with features. The dedicated laptop pocket works fine. While it is a little tight for my Asus 17" notebook, it does work. It fits better when I remove the oversized battery. While the main compartment has lots of room for school books, the pack is loaded with lots of smaller pockets and places to store things for easy access. There is also a headphone cord port for MP3 players. It is super comfortable on the back, and is designed with unique airflow cushioning to keep your back cool. The nylon is super tough, and stitching is strong. I would stack this pack up against any other manufacturer today. Considering the lifetime warranty, quality and design, this pack is well worth the money.

Overall the STM Large Loop bag is good, but it has a few flaws, and I'm concerned about how well it is going to hold up over the long term. I've had it for a month or so now, and use it every day to haul my Dell 15" laptop, cables, files, etc. This bag has three main compartments, a big compartment in the back for whatever, the laptop compartment in the middle, and a slim compartments in the front with pen and miscellaneous pockets. The big one in the back is too big, and stuff just swims around in there. The organizer in the front doesn't have enough pockets, and should be deeper. The laptop compartment is great and fits my 15" laptop well. I don't think you could fit a 17" laptop in there. I am concerned that the hand hold at the top of the back is already separating from the bag. I don't use that handle very much, and it's almost falling off. This doesn't make me feel that this bag will last very long. Other than these flaws, it's pretty good. I like the looks, it holds all my stuff and it's comfortable to carry.

This backpack is perfect--it has a ton of space and is so comfortable to wear, it balances the weight perfectly. Definitely a great value for the price!

My daughter needed a bookbag for school and wanted something that was durable and would not hurt her back or sholders carrying around all her books. This bag offers the support she needs. The straps are perfect and is very comfortable to wear. It has a lot of support up around the sholder area. The fabric is very durable so I believe it will hold up better than any other bag we have tried. She is very happy with this product and we will pruchase this again for next year.

My daughter loved this backpack. Just as described...shipped in a timely manner. Very happy with our overall experience. Would definitley recommend to others.

The backpack is perfect for school or for outdoor activities such as hiking and camping. It has plenty of pockets for putting your stuff in: Compartments ------------ - 2 Side Pockets Each of the two side pockets has an elastic band and see-through mesh netting. Each pocket is an ideal place for putting a water bottle, a pair of hiking poles, or even a tripod. I use one of the pockets for a camera tripod and the other for a water bottle when I'm out shooting. - 3 zippered compartments There are 3 other zippered compartments besides the main zippered compartment. o The largest of the compartments (located in front of the backpack) has lots of pockets for putting your calculator, cell phone, stationery, etc. It has plenty of room; it will fit 3 or 4 small paperback books, just to give you a rough idea of its size. There's a hook for attaching your keychain too. o The topmost compartment has an opening for threading the wire of a pair of headphones/earphones through so you can listen to music while the MP3 player is safely stowed away in the compartment. Size ---- The High Sierra site lists the size as follows: Size: 19.5" x 14.5" x 8.250" Capacity: 1949 cubic inches It's a bit bigger than the smallest backpacks but not too big. Personally, the size of this backpack suits me *perfectly*. I wanted a backpack with plenty of room to carry the essentials but not one that is over-sized and clumsy. Straps ------ - Shoulder Straps The shoulder straps are very comfortable even with a heavy/fully-loaded backpack. It has an elastic pocket for putting your cell phone so you always have your cell phone within easy reach. - Bottom Straps The bottom of the backpack has a pair of straps for strapping on additional equipment you need to bring along. - Side straps The side straps work in tandem with the side pockets to keep your stuff safely secured. Quality ------- The quality of this backpack is top-notch. The stitching and the materials used are very high quality. The insides are lined with nylon (makes backpack water-resistant). --- I absolutely love the High Sierra Loop Backpack. It is just the right size for me, it has plenty of pockets, and its quality is superb. If you're looking for a medium-sized backpack, this one is definitely worth consideration.

I ordered this at 3 in the morning for a Standard 5 day ship, it got to me at 9am the same morning. I have no clue how that happened but I am not complaining. Incredible!!!

I am always a bit sceptical about ordering products online, but this bag did not dissappoint. There is a vast amount of room, yet it doesn't look big and bulky. I would recommend this product to anyone considering a purchase.
