Black & Decker StormStation All-In-One Rechargeable Power Source/Radio/Light #SS925 Black & Decker StormStation All-In-One Rechargeable Power Source/Radio/Light #SS925

Used for a couple years, mainly only the flashlight. Purchased in 2005 and flashlight just quit working a couple months ago. Do not see where bulb or battery can be replaced. All other functions still work I would assume.

I bought this for my son in law a couple of years ago and it has proved itself over and over again. It's everything you need in an emergency, and my grandkids thinks it is a life saver, they don't like sitting in the dark.

This is a toy for picnics and occasional short-term (30 minute) power outages. DO NOT bet your safety on the "StormStation." Shop around. There are far more reliable and practical products for the money. In the meantime, Black & Decker should either discontinue this product or sell it for a vastly-reduced price with a disclaimer that it is not for actual emergencies. Again, DO NOT bet your or your family's safety on this product.

I gave the storm station as a birthday gift to a relative in Arkansas. The family was so impressed by the gift they called me and said it came just in time to alert them of an oncoming storm. Every outlet worked perfectly, the light it gave them when the power went out was incredible. They felt so much better and safer having the StormStation during their frequent power outages. Fantastic buy for the money

Given that this is meant to provide back up service in case of an emergency you'd expect it to be reliable. It failed after 1 year of service. In other words after a year of sitting around do nothing. It now does even less

Does exactly what it is meant for. I bought this to replace an el cheapo inverter I bought at Sams...which literally burned up on me. I decided to go with a higher quality product after that. (The laptop that I connected to the snap/crackle/pop el cheapo inverter never was quite right after that incident.) The only downside of this product is that its fan is noisy.

Our deep cycle battery and this unit do not get along. I wanted to use it at our cabin, but the shutoff is too sensitive. The light turns red as soon as you put a load on it. I have a much cheaper 40W unit that works better.

I really liked this product when I first bought it. Then the internal fan started making funny noises (much louder than the operating noise). I exchanged it for a new one. The new unit was much quieter than the previous unit, but then started making the same noisy fan. It seems the fan is wobbly and takes a little tapping to get the fan back to the normal alignment. I'm taking it back again

This works fine, the only reason I gave it 4 stars was because it is a bit loud, meaning the fan.

Works as advertised. I'm able to power my laptop on road trips with no problems. Can also use to power portable dvd player, cell phone etc. Only has one outlet but that is fine for most use. I like how it plugs right into the outlet without any additional cables. Quality seems very good for the price. There is a slight fan noise but not bad when you have the radio going etc.

the item is convenien, well packed when i got it. however even i follow the instruction still the green light does not appear even after i cotacted the seller and follow their instruction. anyway the seller is excellent. I love the way the communicate.

I received this as a gift, and was quite excited when I first got it. It seemed to work very well, it charged from the lamps in my house, it had many different kinds of connectors and it was a very handy size. But, as soon as I started to use it, I realized how poorly made it really was. The seller claims that it will work for any BlackBerry, but it wouldn't work for my Curve 8310 from the beginning. On top of that, the BlackBerry connector broke after just a few attempted uses. I have tried it on my iPod, and it gets the job done, but the battery doesn't last very long and it takes about 7 hours if you want to charge from solar. It does charge from three sources, but charge time isn't very good. The quality of the product is quite poor also. I was reading the labeling on the device, and some of the lettering was upside down. The device will tell me that it is fully charged when I push the "Status" light, but I will then plug it in and it charges for hours. The thing really isn't well made. Don't buy it. The thing is more trouble then it's worth.

Purchased product from vendor and it worked for two charges before failing. I was not able to charge it up again with the solar option. Vendor exchanged device for another one. So far I've been able to complete two charges. It takes something to recharge the battery pack with the solar charge. It's hit and miss with this one.

A solar charger for cellphones and personal electronics is a great idea, but this product falls short of greatness in several important respects. Putting power in: the solar charging aspect of this is kind of a gimmick. I guess if you knew were going to be out in the desert holding still for hours under a blazing sun you might be able to depend on the little solar panel for some juice, but for most uses you'll have to plug this thing in somewhere. Unfortunately, that requires using a special cable. So if you forgot or misplaced the only cable in the world that will charge it you won't be able to charge this battery. If you lose their power-in cable, you'll have to buy another one from the manufacturer. Taking power out: you also need a different special cable to get the power out of this thing, since it uses a female mini usb out the likes of which I've never seen before. Normal usb to mini usb cables won't do you any good. If you lose their special power-out cable, you'll have to buy another one from the manufacturer. Small design: I like the look of this battery, but that small size is deceiving since you can't do anything with it unless you have the special cables mentioned above. It's also slippery to hold on to. Rapid drain: the battery drains all by itself very quickly, so you can't just charge it up and depend on it being charged when you need it. Suggestions for the manufacturer: make this battery work with conventional cables for both input and output; figure out how to make the battery hold a charge better. Suggestion for consumers: take a look at the Powersource Mobile Mini by Xantrex. It's not solar, but it holds triple the charge and has a built in mini usb output that's perfect for recharging RAZR's, etc, on the go.

I really like this product. I like the fact that this will give me extra battery for my ipod, cell phone, ect . It has many adapters that will fit many devices. It is especially great if you are going to be away from civilization for a few days. It will give your devices a charge without electricity and you can recharge the Solar Power Boost with the sun to give another device a charge. A great product for emergencies (like getting stalled with your car and realizing your cell phone battery is dead)

Great price for a great battery jumper + 'tis small and light but REALLY powerful!

Jump N Carry Ultra Portable Jump Starter w/Flashlight 900 Peak Amps (SOLJNC300XL) Category: Battery Chargers and Starting Systems I have not had the need to use this product yet but I have it charged (I think) and in the trunk of my car. One thing I noticed was when I followed the instructions and charged the unit for the first time, the green light never came on to indicate that the charge was complete. I'm hoping that it is fully charged and that I will be able to depend on the portable jump starter if ever I'm in need of it. My fingers are crossed.

This is a must have for the professional technician. No more wasting time looking for the shop's jumper, grab it out of your tool box and feel confident that it will start just about anything on the lot. This replaced an older version of the Jump N Carry 300 XL I previously owned for about 15-20 years (yes, it lasted that long). Great tool at a great price. I highly recommend it.

Nice compact design, looks durable, and starts my car! I bought one on for myself and then one for my dad and wife.

GREAT PRODUCT! for the price. I spent 2-3 hours on-line looking for what I needed. A Battery Jumper: 1) not too much money, 2)would help me start my car immediately...This accomplished both needs. This is the cheapest, most reliant item. Ignore the Black&Decker item. I read too many bad reviews. I used this one 5 times (within 2 months) before I took my car into the shop to correct the REAL problem ---My real problem: I bought a cheap replacement battery. This item saved me from having my Auto Club telling me, "SORRY, YOU HAVE CALLED US TOO MANY TIMES".

Brunton Solaris 26 Solar Panel Brunton Solaris 26 Solar Panel

Yes it's expensive, no it wont run your 72 inch plasma... After much heel dragging and beating my self up over the price I purchased one of these panels. If you understand how 12 volt power works the thing is beyond wicked!I had basic 12 volt knowledge from working on cars and using power inverters in them but nothing like some of the reviewer's here. First off don't be scared to read and learn, I am terrible with math but after a little research it became much less complicated to know what the panel will and will not do. To simplify it in full Nevada sunlight (In December no less) this will run a 30 watt (DC) product in real time. If you need AC power expect about 15 watts unless you have an efficient (expensive!) inverter. I have a friend who also has this panel that has run his Nintendo Wii (45 watts!) in real time off of this in direct sunlight. It produces more power than advertised for the most part as other reviews have stated. This coupled with a Duracell 300 is a VERY portable and renewable power source. The Duracell 300 ran a Vizio 23 inch LED tv (27 watts) and a Sega Dreamcast (30 watts) for over an hour of gaming and still had power left over. Recharged from the panel during the day, gamed at night. Pros- Not enough is said about how tiny this thing is, we are talking canvas thin and light. Often doubles the stated output in direct light Nice grommets for tie down (though I wouldn't trust it in high winds) Cons- Same as other reviews not enough 12V connectors included and linking panels without splicing and making your own connector would be difficult at best Final opinion: I think it rocks and will be getting another (Maybe the 52) to link and have a real renewable and portable power source for more gadgets. It has changed my thinking about power and I now count watts like most people count calories! My goal is not to be cheap and save money but to be mobile and still always have my laptop and toys because I'm just that attention deficit that I need to! Hope this helps make your decision!

This panel, is perfect, I have used it to charge everything, it is amazing, everyone should own atleast one. I don't think I have ever been happier with any online purchase.

I got this to charge my Duracell 600 and to use to charge D batteries, run fans, play music etc. It has exceeded my expectations. The first time I used it the day was overcast in my treed yard, but it still put out plenty of power for mp3 player and external speakers. It also charged a phone at the same time. It puts out 12-18v even on a partly cloudy day in Va. It has sufficient amps to run a netbook in realtime. My only complaint is with the cords, or lack of cords. I purchased a variety of 12v adapters and cigarette lighter plug adapters. You will probably like a cigarette lighter extension cord. If you are at a table in the shade, the provided cord isn't long enough to run to the array in a sunnier spot. It would have been nice to have the omni adapter cord much longer and to provide another shorter cord solely for joining two panels [which I will be doing]. I will make a patch cord for joining. If you purchase the Duracell 600, the ac charging inlet will allow you to use this array for charging and I guess even trickle charging without getting any kind of regulator, as the Duracell uses the onboard ac regulator, which also trickle charges. This was a huge benny for me. Just plug and go. This fact is documented in the manual as well as the correct jack to use on your solar panel. Nice touch for the Duracell. This is well made and really sci fi cool looking. What I didn't immediately realize is that these panels actually use mono crystal cells. It doesn't look like it, though. I expect that it will last a good while.

I bought this with the Xantrex Technologies 852-2070 XPower PowerPack Energy Pack for the inverter and energy storage. They complement each other really well. The panel is able to collect a great amount of energy and keep things running for hours.

I have a portable 600W backup battery for my laptop and other electronics that I keep for emergencies, and I wanted a way to recharge it if the electricity were to ever go out for more than a day. I ordered this Brunton solar array because I had been reading a Blog belonging to a US serviceman in Iraq who mentioned that he used one to recharge his laptop in the field. I ordered one and spent a day testing it, and I'm very happy with it. In direct sunlight it seems to work as advertised and I've used the Brunton solar array to recharge my Duracell backup battery, my cell phone, and my laptop. I have even continued recharging on overcast days, although the energy output must be reduced, it still seemed to produce a respectable charge. The overcast day piqued my curiosity, so I decided to test the array. I went inside to see how low of a light could still generate a charge. I was shocked to find that I was able to recharge my cell phone using the incandescent light over my dining room table. With the exception of the position of the connection ports (as mentioned in other reviews of this product) I'm very happy with the design and use of the Brunton solar array. If it wasn't so expensive I'd buy a second one.

I would like to give this charger 5 stars, I really would. It charges both the batteries it came with and the extra pack of NiMh AAA's I bought seperately in record time, between 30-45 mins usually. That is spectacular. However, it absolutely will not charge any of the batteries I already own and have charged previously with a different charger. Eight of these are Duracell NiMh 1000mAh AAA's and are less than two months old. And they charge fine in my old charger. I also have assorted AA's I tried, some of which are Duracell and are all NiMh and fall within the specs of the charger. No dice, it just flashes red. So, if you are planning to charge only new Duracell batteries and only in this specific charger, then this may be the charger for you. If your situation is like mine, then you will likely need to have two chargers going. Just remember not to mix up your batteries or all you will have in the end is a charger that constantly flashes red.

So far...The Duracell Go Mobile Charger is working as advertised...I will report to you at a later date how it performs over time...I was impressed with how quickly it charged four Duracell AAA nimh pre-charged Batteries [about 30 min.]...

The Duracell Go Mobile Charger CEF26 sounds like an ideal solution for recharging AA/AAA cells on the road. It accepts either universal AC (100-240V) or 12V from car battery, and it recharges cells in just around one hour. Note that many other so called 'one hour' charger usually require at least 2 hours when charging 4 cells. But this Duracell Go Mobile charger charges at the same current of 2.3A (for AA) or 0.98A (for AAA) whether you put in 2 or 4 cells. That's why it takes less than one hour to fully recharge those included 2000mAh Duracell Pre Charged AA cells. Unfortunately, there is a major design flaw with this charger: it charges in pairs only. That is, you can only recharge either 2 or 4 cells, and you cannot group AA and AAA in a pair. Why is charging NiMH cells in pairs a very bad idea? Suppose you have one cell that is only partially discharged, and another one that is fully discharged. When you charge those two as a pair in this charger, the charging process will terminate as soon as the first cell is full (signaled by a negative dV/dt in the combined voltage). But the second cell is still half empty at this point. Naturally, when you use those two cells together in an appliance, the power will run out much sooner. Then there's always the problem when your appliance requires either one or three cells. Now you are left with one drained cell that you cannot charge. If you try to charge a drained cell in series with a full one, you're end up with the above situation again. If you always use identical NiMH cells in pairs, and you never mix up cells from different appliances, then the Go Mobile Charger is still worth considering. For the rest of us, however, the Duracell Mobile Charger CEF23DX4N may be a better choice. It charges cells individually (but at a lower current of 550mA), has four status indicator lights, and even doubles as an USB power source.

Feel Bright Light 100 Portable, Self Contained Phototherapy Device with Rechargable Lithium Polymer Battery and Charger Feel Bright Light 100 Portable, Self Contained Phototherapy Device with Rechargable Lithium Polymer Battery and Charger

I am a psychotherapist. I used the Feel Bright Light myself for three weeks and then I loaned it to a client. It took a few days for me to adapt to the brightness of the light, I would have liked to know that this was a possiblity before I bought it. Once I adapted I didn't have to remember to put it on, I wanted to put it on. Even though I have not used it now for a week because my client has it, I still wake up several hours earlier than I did before and feel a noticible increae in my energy during the day. I appreciate being ready to go to sleep by 10:00 or 10:30. Before Bright Light I would go to bed around midnightor 1AM. I look forward to my Little Bright Light coming back. Another client bought one on my recommendation and is using it along with an anti-depressant. He feels "better than he has felt in a long time." We plan to wean him off the medication & try using only the Bright Light.

This light is great - really helped me feel better in the winter. The freedom to be able to move around while getting my light really helps. I am in Cleveland so we really have some gray winters. I wear it from October till March. I even do two - 1/2 hr treatments in December. Seems like after 3 years of use however that the rechargeable battery may be getting a little weak - which is normal for a battery this long out with over 500 charge/discharge cycles.

Forget Buyer Beware!!!! I take it back! I just got off the phone from a very prompt, polite, and helpful service call from the manufacturer! feelbrightlight.com I searched for and found the packaging for my visor with the plan of sending what I viewed as a defective light back to the company. I saw their web address on the box and decided to write to them about my problem of not getting the visor to turn on again. Within a half hour I received a phone call from them. Turns out "I" was operating the charger under false information. I thought the light came with added instructions that warned not to overcharge the unit. Wrong! I am now informed that it cannot be overcharged. What's more is the life expectancy and performance of the battery and bulbs is well above and beyond. I was grossly undercharging my light and that is why it wouldn't turn on. Please ignore my previous comment and buy this visor. The convenience of a visor with the proper light color and placement above eye level worked wonders in treating all my symptoms of SAD, and I could well qualify as their poster child. This product makes a "night and day" difference in the quality of my life Sept.-March. I most strongly recommend this product. It is money "well" spent.

This item over charged when plugged in LESS then 24hrs, and would not turn on again!!! That was Fall 2007. I tried it this fall and got it to turn on. I was happlily surprised and got a few more sessions before it needed recharging. I was careful to charge it for only 8hrs and it happened again! I'm now shopping for a light BOX.

What were those people in Duracell thinking when they introduce this Duracell GoEasy Charger? The new 'GoEasy' charger has exactly the same spec as the old Duracell Mini Charger CEF20. Both of them are smart chargers that recharge 1-2 AA cells at 280mA, which gives charging time of 6-8 hours. The only diffference is in their shapes. But the more disturbing news is: capacity of the rechargeable AA cells included in this package is only 1700mAh. Yes, you heard right, the capacity is LOWER than that of all the existing Duracell Pre Charged AA (2000-2100mAh). Furthermore, those 1700mAh cells do not say 'Pre Charged' on them (even though they share the same color scheme with Drracell Pre Charged cells). Why in the world should people pay a higher price for this 'new' package, only to get essentially the same old charger, plus two lower capacity batteries that are not even Pre Charged? Instead of this Duracell package, I recommend getting the Sanyo Eneloop MDR02 Charger package. The MDR02 is a compact 2-cell charger, but it charges at twice the current (550mA), so the charging time is reduced to about 4 hours. The Sanyo eneloop AA cells included in this package is also a much better value, with 2000mAh rated capacity. Finally, you can even get the better Sanyo package for less!

This item was highly recommended by a friend. By searching in Amazon I found it, very stylish design with a lot of Juice. Shipping is very fast! This is a great item for traveling, especially for users with heavy using of iPhone. Now I can feel confident leaving iPhone 3G, Bluetooth, location services and Push on all day, since I have this as a backup. Great product from great Amazon seller!

Other reviews have noted that the device lacks a Micro-USB connector, which means that it does not connect to the Blackberry 9700 (or other devices using the current micro-USB plug). I did have the necessary connector (it came with the Blackberry 9700), but, unfortunately, the device did not start to charge the Blackberry 9700...no matter what I tried. Apart from the above, the device worked as advertised - it charged my Nokia phone and ipod just fine (the flashlight was nice to have too). So, this device may not be the "all-in" device, at least, if you have a Blackberry 9700.

I've had this for about a week and it works very well. I have gotten about three charges on my iPhone 3GS before I have to plug in the iwalk for charging. I should have paid more attention to the description though, because the iwalk is bigger than I expected. It's almost as long as the iphone, and twice as deep, but a little more than half the width. That said, it's still a much better solution than carrying around a smaller backup battery that you have to charge all the time. The previous reviewers were right about the instructions - they are not very clear. Fortunately, this thing is easy to operate and the instructions are "clear enough".

I keep the I-UP 5400 in my backpack, ready to go at all times. Nice to know I can be charging my iPhone at any time and at any place (even at 35,000 feet). It's small enough to keep in my jeans pocket too, so for those heavy phone use days it's like having an unlimited power supply always available. Best iPhone accessory I've ever purchased.

Nothing worse than some game inexpectantly running down your iPhone battery and hauling a dead phone around with you all day. Not anymore. Keep this in my car so I can run out and grab it and charge it on the fly. I bought two so one is always fully charged.
