Off! Clip-On Starter KitReviewsMy wife says it works great for her (no bites), I say it works very mediocre for me. I weigh about twice what she does, so maybe that is the difference. I would say when I am out walking our dog I probably get about 50% of the bites as I do without it. So, does it work? Yes. Does it work well? No. If I had 2 or 3 of them on me maybe it would do a better job, but I hate to spend that much money to find out. If you are in an area with few to no mosquitoes, then this will probably do the trick. If you have a bunch hanging around, then instead of 30 bites you will only get 15...or in my case 3-5 instead of 6-10. Also, apparently if you are smaller it seems to work better than if you are bigger. At least in our case. Hope this helps. This product is great. We have a cabin in NW Wisconsin and the mosquitoes have been terrible this year. This product has really worked. I just brought 3 more today! I was so excited to buy this after my sister told me about it. I love gardening in my backyard but the mosquitoes make it miserable outside, at almost all times of the day if you're in the shade. I thought this would be my answer to the problem but it has absolutely no effect! Clipped it onto my shorts only to look down a few minutes later and see about 7 mosquitoes biting my legs all at once! I even, like many other have said, took the clip off and aimed it at the little blood suckers and they couldn't care less. This thing is useless and I again had to resort to spraying myself down with sticky, smelly bug spray :( So disappointed! My mother-in-law purchased this for my wife for her birthday saying that they were 'all the rage' in her town. Her 'town' must be mosquito free because this thing is nothing but a useless waste of materials, packaging, production energy and the fossil fuel used to ship it acround the country. Point blank: IT DOES NOT WORK! My wife thought it was ridiculous so she told me to test it. Our swimming pool is in a pretty wooded area of our yard and the perfect proving ground. I read the directions, which made me laugh - wait a few minutes for the repellent to take effect. If I were to wait a few minutes, there wouldn't be anything left of me for mosquitoes to feed on!. Regardless, I did. I even stood perfectly still, as instructed (because you cannot move around with it on because it becomes ineffective - DUH!). If anything, the wind the device created attracted more mosquitoes. Want video proof? (Hmmm, could prove to be quite entertaining). DO NOT BUY THIS UNLESS YOU LIKE THROWING AWAY MONEY. Also, read the warnings: DO NOT BREATHE VAPORS. In order for it to work, it has to emit vapor. Bottom line-this product is a huge joke, only I'm not laughing. It's quite interesting that there's such a disparity in the reviews. I live in east Texas and the mosquitos are heinous. Sprays and lotions really don't work too well, because after 15 minutes in the heat and humidity they've been sweated off. My sister in law in California recommended the Clip On and I thought I'd have to hang them all over me like Christmas tree ornaments. Much to my delight, one hanging from my shorts pocket seems to do the trick. I garden early in the morning and in the evening when the little buggers are most active. I have also placed one next to my mom who sits on the patio in the evening. I hope they continue to be succesfull. Average Rating:![]() |

Power Line 0900-27 Global Power Travel KitReviewsMy wife and I were excited to get this power supply for her recent trip to Cambodia. The reviews had been very good, the size was quite compact and the weight was not excessive.Additionally, it had enough adapters to suit us wherever we may travel. However, in practice it turned out to be disappointingly ineffective. The prongs on most of our equipment that is made in the US is three pronged. The receptacles in most foreign countries is two pronged and all of the adapters in this set are two pronged, making them useless in the field. I think I understand why this is the case. Certainly it would be easy for the manufacturer to provide a whole where the third prong could fit, but then most people would assume that once in place the appliance being used would be grounded, when it clearly is not. I am not an expert in electricity or electronics, but this is clearly an issue that needs to be addressed by this and other similar items for them to do the job for which they are intended. The adaptors work fine. The transformer melted the 1st time we tried to use it. Also the hinge on the case broke very quickly. Sooo, we are on our trip in Europe and cannot use curling irons, etc. for fear that we will fry them. Have not had the opportunity to use this yet as I have not travelled to an international location, but it appears to be exactly what I am anticipating needing in the future. The product worked as advertised. I am indeed glad that it has a fuse in case of short or overload. Given that its intended use is in a foreign country, in my case India, it would have been awfully nice to have had a replacement fuse included in the carrying case. For half the trip, I had a wonderful power converter which had not been blown up in an unfortunate short because of a fuse; but no way to purchase or find a replacement fuse in a foreign and somewhat remote area. For those planning to purchase this unit, it travels well and the plugs work great for the growing number of items which are already set up for 220 volts (most newer Apple products can automatically switch if plugged into different current.) The 50 watt setting is fairly useless. The unit got hot to the point of melting even charging a phone on the 50 watt setting. The 1500 watt setting worked very well. And pick up a couple of small 5 amp automotive fuses to stick in the carrying case. For less than a dollar you can keep running in the event of an unfortunate short or voltage spike. We purchased this product prior to a trip to Europe and parts of North Africa. We thought that it would be very useful for our electronics. We actually had to buy this product a second time because the voltage converter blew out (and the plastic around it melted slightly) as a result of my wife's hair flattener, though I'm not sure she read the wattage on it before using the voltage converter. Here's what we've found: Pros - Cheap - Easy to use because the instructions seem somewhat dumby proof - using color coding and symbols. This isn't our first time traveling overseas, so we didn't need it. - The adapters work without issue. They're great. You don't really need to color coding since it's really just about plugging into the outlet whatever fits best. Cons - As I mentioned earlier, the voltage converter burned out on us. In general it gets quite hot - Design issue for wall outlets. The convertor adds to a adapter, which means it all gets heavy, so the whole thing curves downward or can easily fall out if the outlet is old or loose. We worked around this by finding a way to plug it into the floor or table in our hotel We bought this product a second time just to get the the convertor, so it wasn't bad. It was relatively cheaper to do that than buy something else. Average Rating:![]() |

Petmate Airline Travel KitReviewsThis product is okay for the price. The cups did not fit in the carrier that I purchased, the Cayman 2 pet carrier. The stickers are great though I have a very large dog, and while looking at kennels to ship her back to the states with me when I move from Germany, I decided that it wasn't going to be feasible for me to purchase a new and found a used one at a great price. It, however, did not come with the required food/water bowls. I'm not worried about whether the food/water bowls stay up or attached properly or whether the food and water stays in them during the plane ride, as it's only 8 hours and she won't eat or drink without my presence anyway. I just needed them to pass through customs and the laws here. The stickers that came with the set stuck very well to the kennel and I don't foresee any problems with them falling off during the drive to the airport or the flight itself. Great purchase for cheap! The pet dishes in this package are great and exactly as described. But I would hardly call the liner they include a liner, it is more like a thin strip of paper thin cardboard material. I doubt this will absorb much but it is better than nothing. Other types of pet absorbent pads offer much better protection. Even though this product is cheap, it's a little much for a piece of cardboard and two plastic mini bowls. The labels themselves are perfect for their purpose. However, for the price, I would have included an extra set. Also, if you're putting out the money it cost for the 'airline-approved' crate, the travel package should be included, at no extra cost, in the purchase. Average Rating:![]() |

The only small problem I had was sometimes my phone won't read it, it would say unable to charge. But it could also be my phone because I've seen that before. Average Rating:![]() |

Total Resources International 250-Piece Outdoor First Aid Kit in Red EVA CaseReviewsAwesone first aid kit for home or car. Fast shipping from seller. Happy to do business again. Me lleve una decepcion ENORME al ver el tamaño de este articulo... Es una pequeña bolsita de buen material en donde vienen infinidad de cositas que a mi modo de ver no satisfacen la expectativa de compra... This product not only looks official but it is ready to handle any mishap, I feel relieved to have this kit around for the safety of my family as well as my Girl Scout Troop. The quality of items in this kit, and many others, are fairly cheap. Furthermore, the inside of this case (which is removable), is very difficult to manage, and is not well laid out for emergencies. Finally, about 1/3 of the items included are fairly extraneous...sunscreen, bug bite wipe, bug repellent. Definitely better off building your own kit from scratch. The only good thing about the whole thing is the exterior beefiness of the bag. Comes with a lot and handy case seems perfect for our RV and boat..would make an excellent gift for the outdoorsy type as well. Would buy again and would highly recommend. Average Rating:![]() |

AAA 73 Piece Adventurer Road Assistance KitReviewsi bought it for my son and within 2 weeks has used the cables twice.. great items... very useful Kit has all the equipment you need if you break down. It's doesn't take up a lot of space in the truck. I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a road kit. this kit is overpriced - there's a heavier/bigger kit at CostCo for $29.99 as of 10/17/09 The AAA 73 Piece Adventurer Road Assistance Kit is okay, but could be much better. Seventy-three pieces sounds like a great deal or bargain; however, keep in mind that one alcohol prep or small pamphlet is counted within that number. In addition, the accompanying hand-tools (e.g. screw driver, pliers) are of very low quality. Overall, the kit is recommended, but users may consider supplementing the hand tools for better brands, such as Craftsman or Stanley, and adding other useful materials, such as air foam to fill tires, ice scraper (if one lives in cold climates), and much more. A great value for the money. Comes with everything mentioned in the description above and is contained quite nicely and conveniently in the double sided/zippered bag. The contents are arranged nicely inside. The only thing it didn't come with was a glass breaking/seat belt cutting tool. The next AAA kit up comes with one, but you can get the tool cheaper than paying the price it costs to upgrade the kit. I bought two of these; one for my car and one for my husbands. Actually, he cut his finger pretty bad the other day so we got in the first aid part of the kit and used a band-aid!! Average Rating:![]() |

In 1844 the Oregon Trail was full of farm families moving west. That summer one party set out on its own--heading into unknown wilderness and blazing a trail to California. They survived hardships of waterless deserts and mountain snows to become the first party to successfully cross the Sierra Nevada with covered wagons--one of the truly remarkable achievements in the history of the West... |
